Blue 02: Character Sketches

Still in the rough character sketches stage playing around with shapes and poses to get a feel for the character and start getting some direction.



Im really picturing the character as a stage performer of sorts that captivates her audience with her beauty and with her pocket watch she can hypnotized them to make them give her their valuables. She is suppose to be a villain in the story and that's something i want to come across the character design. Keeping the design more on the elegant side but still have a somewhat of a mischief under tone.




Now I can start asking my self questions and start gathering references. I want her to have a flower on her head but what kind of flower? What kind of stop watch does she carry? For her clothing I am going to be looking at flamenco dresses as i really like the layered bell shape I got from the sketch on the far left and corsets to add an edgy look.

Blue 01: Character Sketches

I finally got my desktop running after 4-5 months and I am just eager to do some 3d! I figure I would start a character model along with time lapse video of my process through out the whole thing. The goal is to create a very appealing still of the character posed but I would like to also have the character set up with a rig so that's it's animation ready.




The character comes from one of my ideas for Lady Red, she is suppose to be a very classy and mesmerizing gal with powers of hypnotism. These are just some initial rough head sketches to get the ball rolling. I have a rough idea of how i want her to look like but I definitely would like to explore shape and style and develop her out in 2d before moving into 3d.

Got to get back on the ball on updating this blog again! Been busy with wrapping up projects at work for the past few months as well as trying to fit in personal projects at home like Red Law & Justice Fist which iam currently making pages for and on top of that a little side webcomic that will go live on Friday called Fishy Flounders. Introducing Project Siloh

I initially came up with this idea roughly about a year ago and has just been on the side cooking ever since. Have been working on the story on and off but it's finally written and got a solid direction on where I want to take it. Time to make! This initially started out as a concept for a motion comic type of thing but I really want to keep this thing small and simple.

Keeping things small and simple all through out this whole process from art style to story to the layout to get the ball rolling and use this project as a learning stepping stone. The plan is to make this thing into a mini web comic spanning just over 20 pages and work on it from now through October and release sometime in November.

Siloh is the a story of a lonely scarecrow who's goal is to keep a giant corn stalk from perishing. Through out the story the scarecrow is constantly being harassed by a pack of crows that are no longer scared of him and in term he has to figure out a way to scare them.
